Today’s episode is a special one: We have a fun chat with Mari Galloway, CEO of the Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu, to kick off and introduce ITSPmagazine’s strategic partnership with WSC!
In this short conversation, we get to know a bit about Mari (she’s a Sr. Security Architect for a large casino in Las Vegas), the organization (a nonprofit dedicated to women in cybersecurity), and why we decided to partner with each other.
ITSPmagazine chooses our partnerships very carefully. Our primary mission is to raise awareness for cybersecurity by making it understandable, accessible and part of everyone’s life. But we believe that our voice alone is never going to be loud enough. No matter what we can do as individual organizations, our influence is never going to be as strong and powerful as that of a community of organizations coming together, united by the same passion, goal and vision.
Founded in 2012, the Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu (WSC) is a 501(c)3 International nonprofit community, focused on empowering women to succeed in the cybersecurity industry. WSC’s mission is to advance women in cybersecurity careers by providing programs and partnerships that promote networking, education, training, mentoring, resource-sharing and other professional opportunities.
So teaming up with the Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu just makes sense and we’re super excited about all that we can and will do together!

About Mari Galloway
CEO, Women's Society Of Cyberjutsu (WSC)
Mari Galloway is the Chief Executive Officer and a founding board member for the Women's Society of Cyberjutsu (WSC), one of the fastest growing nonprofits dedicated to women in cybersecurity. WSC provides women with the resources and support required to enter and advance as a cybersecurity professional.
Mari began her cyber career with Accenture where she excelled as a Network Engineer. With over nine years of Information Technology, eight of which are in cybersecurity, her experience spans network design, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, incident response and policy development across government and commercial industries.
She currently works as a Sr. Security Architect for a large casino in Las Vegas. She holds a variety of technical and management certifications as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Columbus State University and a Master of Science in Information Systems. Mari also guest blogs for a variety of security related publications across the country and is an Adjunct Professor for UMUC Online. Outside of being a geek, Mari enjoys arts, puzzles, and legos!
