Their contribution to the fight against cyber criminals and security threat is undeniable and yet they role is one of those that doesn’t get the spotlight and is not appreciated as much as it should. 

ITSPmagazine is proud to join Devo and other partners in supporting this initiative and contribute with a podcast leading up to the event and the live panel “The Hybrid SOC” during the streaming. Join us as we look at the profession from different perspectives as we talk with analysts and leaders inside and outside of the corporate boundaries.

This will be a live streamed event dedicated to this profession. There’s a ton to celebrate and we want to make this a yearly event — or even better a day that will make us value this role 365 days/year — come on, let’s do this!

The SOC is changing. Cybersecurity teams are investing in AI-driven security technologies and planning to outsource many of the Tier-1 and Tier-2 analyst responsibilities to combat talent shortages—enabling in-house teams to become much more focused on threat intelligence. In this panel, SOC professionals from MSSPs and in-house teams will come together to discuss dividing and conquering responsibilities to keep organizations secure.

Solving Modern-Day SOC Challenges With Chaz Lever

The cyber threat landscape has changed dramatically over the past several decades—and the data volumes SOC analysts need to review and analyze have increased exponentially. Despite the shifts and advancements we've seen in cybercrime, many SOC teams are using antiquated techniques to derive actionable insights from these large datasets, leading many to become overwhelmed and burned out. Analysts also struggle to arm themselves with more knowledge, as access to experts can be limited, and they don't have the spare time to dig deeper into tools and skills training.

Chaz Lever, senior director of security research at Devo, will share how SOC teams can scale their techniques, how security automation should and will evolve to alleviate SOC analyst pain, and the integral role community will play in fostering knowledge sharing within the cybersecurity industry.
