Marco Ciappelli and Sean Martin make their way into Las Vegas to begin their Hacker Summer Camp event coverage. What does the week ahead have in store? What does Marco need for breakfast? What (or Who?) is "ITSP1" anyway?

Marco Ciappelli and Sean Martin make their way back home from Las Vegas to begin their production of all the content created as part of their Hacker Summer Camp event coverage. What did they hear and see? How many stories did they capture?

Unusual Gatherings At Hacker Summer Camp

We’ve had this show for a while now. And, while we are in the process of launching some new amazing Talk Shows on ITSPmagazine, this one will always have a special place in our heart. The show is called Unusual Gatherings and it represents —at the deepest level—what ITSPmagazine’s vision was built upon: bringing together a collection of people that may not get a chance to meet otherwise so they can take part in conversations on topics for which they may not have an opportunity to discuss together anywhere else.

Most of the time we have no script, no plan, no agenda. Typically, we have a general idea of where we want to start, but we mostly get our inspiration from our guests. Needless to say, where it goes, is a different place every time. It works. The conversations become good stories. They always do.

The following three Unusual Gatherings were caught on camera during Hacker Summer Camp 2019 in Las Vegas.

This episode comes to you from the Women in Cybersecurity Gala. This is a down-to-earth, yet inspirational, conversation with Carmen Marsh (Chief Executive Officer & Managing Partner at Inteligenca, Noureen Njoroge (Security Threat Intel Engineer at Cisco Systems), and Candy Alexander, (President, International Directors, ISSA International).

This episode is about sharing the passion that moves people to choose a career as a cybersecurity professional, what is happening in this industry, and why collaboration at every level looks more and more like the future of cybersecurity.

Our guests are two veterans of the industry and a new-comer participating in Hacker Summer Camp for the first time, bringing with her a fresh and inspiring sense of excitement and enthusiasm as she enters the world of InfoSec. Join us as we explore the Past, Present, and Future of CyberSecurity with guests Francesco Cipollone (Head of Security Architecture & Strategy, HSBC), Guamaral Erkhembayar (Student Pursuing a Masters in Cybersecurity), and Dr. Zulfikar Ramzan (Chief Technology Officer at RSA Security).

This episode is what many people have been looking forward to—just as we were looking forward to it ourselves. It’s the sequel to the original conversation we filmed at RSAC in 2018 and the one we shot in Las Vegas 2018. They were called Tomorrow Land, and there is a reason for this naming; we talk about what the future might, or might not look like, what is driving us as a society in that direction, and is that the direction we want to go if we can have our say about it.

Are we looking at Utopia or Dystopia?

What can we do as professional and humans to ensure the best possible outcome and prevent the worst outcome?

In this episode—which we even further extended based another conversation that was lead by our good friend Chris Roberts and that also included another good friend, Shira Rubinoff—is quite unique because we talk about technology focusing on humanity. Who makes technology anyway?

Quality time with our friends Chris Cochran and Ronald Eddings. It is a podcaster’s podcast!

Stay tuned as we are planning some more special events like this one__ or better. Most certainly different!

In this episode, we joined Ron and Chris.
Both sets of podcasters have ambitious goals to start unique conversations and bring more diversity to Cybersecurity. Tune in to hear about the vision of both SecDevOps.AI and ITSPmagazine.
