The Ponemon Institute 2015 Cost of Cyber Crime Report, which cites that denial of services, malicious insiders, and malicious code account for more than 55% of all cyber crime costs, prompted Dr. Engin Kirda, Founder and Chief Architect of Lastline, to share his thoughts regarding the study.
“The findings of the study are not surprising,” said Dr. Kirda. “Many attacks are still successful as some of the current, modern defenses we have (e.g., sandboxing) have not yet become mainstream.
Lastline's threat intelligence - based on unmatched real-time analysis of advanced malware and advanced knowledge of the Internet's malicious infrastructure - creates advanced malware defenses for companies of all sizes.
“Unfortunately, the attackers have adapted and evolved faster than the organizations they are targeting,” Dr. Kirda added. “At the same time, the awareness of such attacks have also increased and studies like this help.”
